In 2011, I had just completed a film production seminar and I was at one of my favorite watering holes on Galveston Bay one afternoon contemplating a name for the production company I was forming. A waitress who worked at this bar had rescued a juvenile Monk Parrot and its was a very vocal creature. It wanted your attention COMPLETELY…100%!
Since Jimmy Buffett was playing on the jukebox and I was a confirmed Parrothead since 1976, the name Rude Parrot just made sense!
Then, like John Lennon said “Life is what happens when your busy making other plans”!
Life intervened!
I received a call from an old classmate informing me about a reunion of our high school band. That classmate who called, was the French Horn player that sat on the row in front of me. Well, after the reunion, we started dating and eventually got married. I needed a job, so it was back to the classroom for me. I would have to put my dream on the shelf, hopefully to pick it up again one day.
In 2023, life again intervened and told me the time was now or never to chase my dream once more…and Rude Parent Productions is now alive and active again!
